The 2008 model is based on lengthened version of the 208 hatchback's platform and measures 4,160mm in length, which makes it 200mm longer than the 208 supermini and 20mm longer than the concept model of the same name from the 2012 Paris Auto Show..

At launch, the 2008 will be available with two petrol and three diesel engine choices, all available with a stop-start system. All 2008s will come with six airbags, electronic brake force distribution, electronic brake assist, anti-skid regulation and traction control.
