Fitting aftermarket reversing camera

Hi Marsim
I had an aftermarket rev cam fitted, my installer had difficulty with feeding the power from the rev light power feed.
Had had two choises, 1 was to get a compatibable relay from Peugeot to stop the flickering effect on the display monitor, or the choice that I went for was to have an power feed from the 'ignition' with an extra power switch fitted near the ecg select lever.

I also had extra LED reversing lights fitted, which did take power from the rev light feed.

This method has proved to be good, as when parking, the rev cam display will stay on, even when shuffling forward to re position/align with a parking slot, most useful.

I do have photos posted in the forum of the camera, rev-lights and the monitor, but at the moment I have failed to find the heading on the post. If I find it I will post back.

The installer I used works in a 40 mile radius of Southampton, if this is useful to you I could PM his details.

Hi
I believe that the relay that was originally tried was a standard 'old fashioned' one, with the coil input fed from the reversing light feed. Guessing that the CanBus signal was getting retransmitted somehow through the relay into the Camera feed. (CanBus signals are some 'flavour' of digital RF fed down the main power feed to the rear of the vehicle). The special relay that may have been available from Peugeot would have a filter to isolate the RF signals. Thesupplier had used similar one from other car makers successfully on other installations.
