Thought I'd get a nice looking tax disc holder for my new 2008.

Black 'carbon fibre' effect to match the fascia, with white Peugeot logo.

Should be better than the dealers horrible big sticky advertising one!

PS: I'm a bit disappointed with this as it has fallen off the windscreen. It was in the sun but it wasn't particularly hot.

I have re-cleaned the windscreen with Methylated Spirit and re-applied it.

Think I'll look around for a better one though.

I got a magnetic one in my Discovery. Very tidy idea.

Hi,Allan,Have a look at this one, it's not magnetic there is a slot where you place the disc (between a clear insert).
I bought one and it seems well attached to the screen. I wiped the screen with white spirit before attaching to get rid of the film you always get on glass.

The same thing has happened with the adhesive tabs when the sun is shining on the glass.

Hmmm...need to look again methinks.

I've just found this link to YouTube showing these 'skin' type tax disc holders.

Looks like the tax disc is actually touching the glass and you just smooth out the 'skin'.

I've just fitted my new tax disc holder and it seems to be a lot more robust.

The 'ring' is stiffer and has a really good adhesive on it plus the backing plate is about twice the thickness of the old one.

The old one almost fell off the windscreen. Then I cleaned the area with methylated spirit and dried the area with my wife's hairdryer (this also warmed the window and I also warmed the adhesive side of the tax disc 'ring).

Adhesive stuck really firmly so I don't think this one will fall off.

I was going to use the backing plate off the old one but it felt so thin and flimsy compared to this new one.

I'm a happy bunny again.

I quite fancied one of the numerous designs of tax disc holder. But I couldn't find one that worked for me so I bought a clear tax disc holder and printed my own picture/design to put behind the tax disc.
