Hi,

i am driving
a Peugeot
2008 1.6 e-hdi 2-tronic.

I want to disable
/not use the navigation of the SMEG unit but divert the GPS antenna and one radio antenna to an after-market VDO dayton pc5200 i still have.

For that i am looking where to connect the :

12V battery (continous +)

12V accessory

0V ground

and specially the : speedometer / vehicle speed sensor (VSS)

reverse gear/light

dashboard illumination (on/off)

Anyone got an idea where to connect this (on the back of the SMEG /somewhere else in the car?)

Kind regards,

Tom

Somewhere on the 208 owners club forum under the ICE section is information on removing the head unit, that may help you. (Sorry I have been unable to find the original thread).

thanx; but removing the unit, finding the antennas, power, illumination and reverse signals are not the biggest problem... all these things can be done/ tricked.

The challenge is finding the VSS vehicle speed sensor; the pulse signal that the satnav uses to maintain positioning in tunnels and keep the position accurate in other places where GPS reception is poor. This makes or breaks the "quality of the system"..

Does anyone know where to get this signal (not via CAN-bus) ?
