Hi everyone

My 2008 is coming up to a year old now. I am still enjoying the car and had a fine time on the autoroutes etc in France during November. Great fuel consumption too.

One minor criticism I have is the pretty poor output of the reversing light. I recently used my daughters little Perodua (very basic but great runaround) and it dawned on me just how poor the 2008 reversing light is.

I suspect the subject has come up before but couldn't find anything through a search. Does anyone know if the 2008 reversing lamp can be 'upgraded' and if it is a job we can do ourselves?

Thanks Al.

It looks a bit daunting on my first read through, I think I may have to go to a specialist. I did ask the Peugeot dealer where I bought the car but they couldn't offer anything. I have parking sensors so that helps but sometimes you need to see. I find the brake lights throw out more light!

Hi All
I have had some input from a Local (South coast PO15/SO31 area) aftermarket Reversing Camera installer.
After asking above the cameras low light operation, he suggested that I have fitted supplementary Lights.
I have done this, and for good measure had a bumper mounted camera fitted along with a dash mounted folding 4" screen.
So far it been totally worth while.
The only issue that he had was that with both the camera feed and the extra lights relayed into the existing Rev Light feed the monitor had a 'rolling' frame. He suggested a manual switch on the camera.

I went for this option. Now that I have used this it was the way to go. I.E. when manoeuvring switch the camera on, it stays on allowing vision and aligning parking spaces on the forward shuffle.

Very satisfied, and For Information the Camera alone was £160 fully fitted. and only a few £'s more for the LED DRL type lights, fitted under the rear body.

I seem to remember reading on this site a post from one of our Australian cousins which seemed to indicate that a reversing camera was an option/standard fit on some of their models. Peugeot should be able to tell us if its compatible with our models or what would need to be done to make it fit.

The 'bullseye camera mounted central, just below the 'RGM' protector.

The Camera switch, enable through the 'ignition', small blue LED indicator, shown in 'ON' position.
The Rev lights are switched through the normal gear engagement.

Looks like a neat arrangement.

I still don't understand why Australia gets a reversing camera as standard on some 2008 models but we don't even have it as an official option.
