Hi Sam, I've had a look at the spec for the 'multi purpose' and I'm wondering whether you will find this better:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-4101D-Spil-Stain-Scotchgard-Protector/dp/B00006IA8O/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1385377121&sr=8-8&keywords=scotchgard+upholstery+protector

My only concern on the seats is that some of the chemicals used in Scotchgard (both multi purpose and the one I've found) could be a skin irritant, especially for children. Also, will any vapour be given off with the car being parked in the sun on a summer's day?

I guess it would be fine on the carpets though, but they're easy enough to remove and clean in any case.

Al.

PS: They do say odourless when dry and the reviews on Amazon.com seem to rate it.

Hello,

I think I would worry about it too much so maybe best just to leave it for now :)

I agree with Al on this one, the stuff does absolute wonders for the seats however it doesnt do too well for other things, the smell is one of them - it doesnt like very cold and very warm weather
