Am looking at purchasing some tough seat covers to protect my 2008 from dirt after hill walking / running.

Have found these but does anyone have any other suggestions?

But where you run? In moving sands? :)))))Can not imagine why don't put some changes with you...and just change your clothes after running...
Or, if is only from time to time, just takesome protective foil from service (one they use to cover your seat when enter in service...)...

Cheers George. I have tried cheaper and "one use" protective covers in my current vehicle but would prefer something a bit more hard wearing that I can just leave on.

Does anyone else have any recommendations for decent "semi-fit" covers?

Makizmo - it's a cover for one seat only but it's made of strong, tough waterproof material and is green! It was in their sale (£10) a little while back. I don't know whether they still stock it because I haven't returned there since but I imagine they would have re-stocked: it really is splendid. I'll do some more detective work next time I'm passing a Halford's.
