I never use the USB port it's also only a small power adapter so I'd get a aftermarket USB to plug in as the Peugeot one is a trickle charge.
It could also not be plugged in at the back of it.

 

my usb port doesn't seem to do anything, I've plugged all sorts of things into it but the square on the display just stays greyed out (as described by you) i can play music via the 3.5mm port, but it's soooo quiet even with the amplified icon on!

 

Yeah I see what you mean as I am having the same issue.
If you do find a fix, please let me know.

 

Could it be the fuse?
Would anybody happen to know whether the usb port has a separate fuse to the aux port, also the location of the fuse?

Hi, I am newby who recently purchased 2008 purerech and I can't seem to get the usb port to work. I have been looking all over the forums but can't seem to find anything about the port not being active. The Bluetooth seems to connect ok, even Aux port seems connect fine however the usb port seems to be inactive. I have gone through the settings on the system and the usb diagrams are greyed out so I can't seem to click or activate them. This means i can't charge the phone through the port or use a usb drive. Also what's the difference between the two usb functions on screen as I believe my car only has one ? Any help advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi same problem .the only cable that worked i.e. connected to my mobile (android auto ) is the Belkin 2m USB A to Type C. In the meantime, I have made a collection of cables that are not connected.... . I still don't understand why Peugot doesn't inform us!!

 

Hi just bought 2013 Alure and use the USB for music on usb stick formatted to FAT32 works well

 

I have a 5008 and the usb is loose/wobbly and this makes the connection not secure does anyone know how to fix this iasue
